NICE!
THank you very much for providing such useful informations. Regards Pierluigi Testi
Allocations chart printed improperly in Adobe. Thanks for info, however
enjoyed the USRA article
On the USRA list, use larger text fonts if possible. My eyes are getting to the dimming age of life. Otherwise, a good reference list.
The artical was good , but the down loadable information was a bit weak and hard to read, other than that the model makers guide was better .
The USRA article was worth the annual subscription cost
Download on my Mac came in as .ashx files instead of .pdfs, so much of the formatting (and thus the usable content) was lost. I know how many locos most roads purchased, but have no idea what wheel arrangements go with the different numbers. You need to fix the pdf files so they download as pdfs.
Very useful info. Readability of both these documents is no problem even for those who’s eye sight is not as good as it use to be. Simply increase the document size at the top of the screen and scroll the document using the scroll bars at the bottom and to the right of the screen.
Thank you for this information. I found the article and the PDF files very helpful for deciding what type I may want to run.
An excellent and informative article, and extremely useful charts. I’ve a much better idea now on how to build up a realistic fleet.
The model chart was a good introduction. Depending on how you define mass-produced, I have some additions for the list. In S Scale, American Flyer (Lionel) produces a USRA 2-8-2A (Light Mikado). In N Scale, Bachmann produces a USRA 0-6-0.
Had often wondered how the break down by railroad was set up, great article.
It would be interesting to do an expansion of this article to document the copies or near copies of these designs. there are many locomotives that owed a good deal of their design to the USRA engines
I liked your USRA chart very much but you should have arranged it to print without wasting so much paper.
Where are the Model Power offerings?
Yeah, I’m with Kyle on this one,… your files are NOT .pdfs.
Well if I had a 22 radius and needed one engine --it would be a USRA 482–second one would be a 282
Interesting and helpful for the model, the better.
