A new way to mount the 153-IR!

I disassembled it and removed the base.
This method is completely reversible.
Here is the result;

were there any issues in getting it to disassemble…ie, is it for the novice? i’ve been looking to do something like that.

One question eZAK. it looks like you have a piece of material under the sensor itself, the brown “cork” looking material. is that just something you put around it or do you have something actually under the grey box? I just put mine directly on the layout without anything under it.

I did change mine and I love how it looks. I have 3 of them on my board and they look so much nicer that way. Definitely an improvement.

Yes!, I did use cork road bed underneath.
I thought it needed something.
