Mr. Randolph was a courageous man, no doubt about it!
At least his statue is in a safe place, indoors, where some poorly educated pack of ignoramuses can’t pull it down or deface it, not having any idea of who it is.
Hell, they’d probably think he was the model for “Uncle Ben.”

I agree that Mr. Randolph was a man of principles. He organized the Pullman Porters and stood up to the Pullman Company. Too many of today’s people don’t remember his contribution to organized labor.

About 20 years ago, a co-worker asked me for a possible topic for her grade-school age son’s paper for Black History Month. After a little bit of thought, I came up with a suggestion where Black History Month and my hobby overlap and suggested that A. Philip Randolph would be an excellent topic.
Randolph was one of the Four Founders of he NAACP, along with my Bar Mitzvah Rabbi, Stephen Samuel Wise.
The last Pullman-built Superliner sleeper was names the George M. Pullman, and I got to ride it twice before moving to Israel in July 1996.
Has any Amtrak or other passenger car been named for A. Philip Randolph?

As Mike ( Wanswheel) says: It’s all connected, without trains there was no brotherhood for Randolph to organize, and no other black man had the clout to use the Lincoln Memorial as a stage in 1963.
