A photo posting glitch?

Any words I type below a photo I post from PhotoBucket become a link to my photobucket account. Does anyone else have that problem?

Garry,

I have the same trouble with ImageShack inserts. If you go to Format in the compose window, you’ll find at the bottom of the list of options “Clear Formatting”. So you select the text that has been linked and then click “Clear Formatting”. The problem is it’s a PITA to do this with every pic when you like to do multiples…heh, heh, heh…so I just tend not to worry about it. IIRC it just links back to the previous pic, which is what someone will find by clicking on your pic, too, most likely. It’s just one of those modern conveniences us old timers don’t have a clue about how to just “turn it off!”[soapbox]

Don’t worry about it guys. I have that problem too, and I’m a retired computer programmer! Just select the text that’s been linked and use the ‘Clear Formatting’ tool found at the bottom of the ‘Format’ menu or just ignore it. Leaving it isn’t going to cause a problem.

Jeffrey,

Pretty much the way I feel, but it does look sloppy as all get out.

Another technique is to space down a couple of lines of text, then past pics about that on the page. So long as you keep a clean line below the pics, it saves the back and forth I was describing earlier.

Now if I can just retrain my mind to do that every time…[sigh]

Never had that issue with photobucket. I’m not sure if it will fix your problem, but if you go to your photobucket Album, there’s a click-on to “Update Link Options”. There’s an option there where you can chose to link back to your albums or not - disabling it may solve the problem.

I recently did have a problem with photobucket where my bandwidth allowance for my free account was being used-up in less than two weeks (it renews monthly, on the anniversary of joining the site). Since I’d never had such a problem before, I asked for a printout of activity for my account, and discovered that there had been, in two weeks, over 100,000 viewings which quickly ate-up my bandwidth allowance. About half of those were directly related to train forums to which I belong, while the balance were attributable to various search sites. While the album was supposedly private, with password-protected access for invited viewers, it seems that there was little semblance of privacy. I ended up buying a membership with unlimited bandwidth just to be able to share photos on-line.
