A pre war motor question 1688e and 1689E

Good evening…

Can anyone let me know if the motor from a 1688E loco also fit the 1689e. I need a motor for my 1689E restore job.

Exact same items on all the motor parts lists between the 1688 and 1689. And the drive wheels seem the same. Only difference I see is the side rods are uinique to each engine.

Let us know, and see, how the finished project shapes up.

The Hand rails and the front plate are orginal. This is my first restore so it was quite a learning expierience,but thanks to you guys on the forum I learned alot…
