A Question for Locomotive Super Detailers?

I have undertaken my first effort at detailing a locomotive. I am using a Stewart VO1000 as the basis. I have installed a radio box and wagon wheel antena on the hood of the model, per Q practice, but want to model the cable conduit that connects the two. This can be seen on the prototype photo link www.castlegraphics.com/graphic/transportation/rail/cbq_9370_VO1000_chicago_il_jul_1958.jpg The conduit runs down the left side of the hood and curves to the antena. Anyway, fine brass wire will work great, but how do you model the mounting bracket detail? Would using lift rings do the trick?

By the way, www.castlegraphics.com/graphic/transportation/rail.html has some excellent RR photos on it.

Simon,

lift rings would work fine.

If you are going to use lift rings, I’d suggest the Details Associates brass ones, they are much more sturdy. The plastic ones will easily crumble with the touch of a hand on the model.
