I see different engines offered in Pennsy colors with and without those big, pipe antennas on them, so which years did they actually use these? I can’t seem to get a clear answer anywhere…

Those are induction radio antennas that sometimes worked.and.sometimes didn’t. The last diesels to get them were GP30 and U25B engines. Not all engines got them before that so some research is needed for specific numbered engines.
