A "shout out" for Intermountain's Customer Service

I recently purchased 15 Intermountain box cars from a brick and mortar dealer, but online. All of the box cars had severely warped/twisted trucks which I’ve never encountered with Intermountain before. ( I have a lot of their cars).

I assume it was a slip through during batch production or else some tropical heat on a container ship, etc…it was kind of amazing and depressing at the same time.

I contacted Intermountain as a forum member encouraged me to do, based on his positive experience and even though I had to delay two operations sessions before I could get replacements, Intermountain was very helpful and gracious about getting them to me as soon as they could. (A couple of weeks or so.)

I’d like to thank Richard Frazier and Nathan Williamson in parts for taking excellent care of their customers. I’m making up my list for more Intermountain rolling stock. Caswell gondolas perhaps…

I have dealt with Intermountain a few times and their service department is great.

I had bought a box of their HO freight car steel wheels and found that they were not a slip in replacment as I had assumed. Can not remember if it was the Yellow Athearn kits, but some Athearn trucks would not accept the Inermountain wheels.

I was asked how many freight trucks I would need and the replacment trucks were sent the next day. I was unaware that Intermountain even marketed trucks, they do.

I also had an issue with a light board on a F7A, sent the engine in and a new light board was installed while the engines were in Intermountain hands they new light boards were installed and in one instance a new motor was installed.

I would not hesitate to buy any Intermountain engine if I was interested and it was the correct prototype. Nor would I hesitate to receommend it to anyone.

Quality product, excellent service, resonable pricing.

I’ve had to contact them several times (not all problems) and their service has been excellent every time!

I accidently dropped an N Scale SD40T-2 frame on a concrete floor a year and a half ago. Called Intermountain, explained the problem and a week later in the mail came a new frame. No charge for my stupidy. Intermountain is excellent in Customer Service and I have heard this from others also. Really well run company. Doug

Had to get a new light for one of my Q F3A’s, IM handled it quickly. I’m waiting for a response on some N scale F unit coupler mounts, IM so far has given me great service.

I can personally vouch for their amazing customer service. They are awesome.

This is a little off the subject but I used to work in Longmont Colorado, just a few blocks from their manufacturing facility. I called them one time to see if I could take a tour of their plant. They said I could, just needed to give them 1 or 2 days’ notice. They were cordial and polite. unfortunately, I didn’t get to take that tour, as I left that job before I ever got the chance to do so. I too have some of their rolling stock (but no locomotives or other products). Quality products and a quality company.
