How many forum members does it take to run a train?
The answer is two. Cnwfan51 and myself have been called to deadhead to Fremont. If we stay lined up, tomorrow a train will have a conductor and engineeer who are forum members. Maybe the question should properly apply to the return trip.
Could this be a first time event? If it is, please celebrate responsibly. Even if it isn’t, please celebrate responsilby.
Great. You should do a live web log of your run. [}:)] Then, when the company hangs you out to dry for violating rules requiring complete attention to the job, non-disclosure of company confidential information and probably a half dozen others, you can write about going through the discipline process and talk about your new careers at Wal-Mart.
Just kidding, of course. A post trip report might prove to be of interest. Hope you get an engine with good functioning cab heat.
Let me know which train, Jeff! You may have yet another Forum member switching it out later (not likely–if it’s a manifest bound for Proviso, it may get here Monday and be switched out Monday or Tuesday, both of which are my days off)!
If there’s any way possible to give us all a headsup when you’all might hit Rochelle, and we could see how many forum members it takes to overload the Rochelle webcam site.
The train will most likely come through Rochelle, but our fellow forum members won’t be running it by then I’m sure- they’ll probably get off at Boone…
[:)] Well gang I am here to tell you all that jeff and I had a pretty good trip home from Fremont. We were ordered out of fremont ant 2235hrs thats 1035pm for you clivian types on a ADVGFR 20, Empty auto racks going back to Michigan for loading. The train didnt arrive until 0015hrs on Monday the 21st and we departed at 0030hrs the trip down to Council Bluffs went well but slowed up by approach signals going thru Coucil Bluffs yard. But once we got passed the bluffs Jeff kept us going down the line and we didnt catch the trains ahead of us until we got to Grand Juction Iowa, But we got in at 0700hrs and tied up at 0730hrs and yes the High Bridge is a little imtimadating when you go across it in the dark and with snow blowing all around you As always its a pleasure to work with Jeff he is a professional and just a good man to know I am heading for bed Have A Good Day Larry
