I will load up a few more in You tube as the weeks move along, These are a bit grainy as they are off my Fuji digtial Camera and not a DVD Video Camera.
Anyways have a look.I actually have 2 loaded up,just wanted to share with you all,and have been dying to get something of my layout on the net.
Mike, nice video although I would have cut to another camera angle as the loco exited stage right. A birds eye view of the yard perhaps. Just a suggestion for future videos. Nice to see video of the layout in action! [tup]
Not overly interesting, just a static location with some cars rolling by. Really short too, your end credits are almost as long. Make it more interesting, add some varying shots if you want more interest. These are supposed to be moving pictures!
I shot some video on a friend’s layout earlier this month, did them as if I was railfanning the trains, following them a bit. Only about 2 minutes long each, check them out if interested:
Nice video’s Railphotog. I thought the first one was kinda funny though. The audio at the beginning has one guy calling the other a “dork” [:D] I guess model railroading can get tense at times lol.
My friend who owns the layout equips all of his locos with larger grain of wheat bulbs for the headlights so they are really bright. Many of his locos are older ones that have been converted from DC, when the lights were installed. And the large wires between the units are for operating and DCC reliablity, as he is more into reliable operations than a high level of modeling. It is a large basement filling layout that operates flawlessly, in part due to his insistance on good connections, pickups and trackwork.
Yea, now that you mention it I see the “pimple headlights”. I did notice all those wires between F units though. It didn’t bother me however. I guess my eyes just accepted it as a needed inconvenience to power up or light the rear F unit.
OK…we all have different priorities. I completely understand with that Soundtraxx LC First Gen EMD under the hood! (They dont like dirty track at all!)
Thanks all for your comments, As I said it was a short grainy shot and I will be doing other stuff with a better camera soon, Bob I left the Camera static and caught the train moveing threw as it’s just to small to carry and try to get a shot would look like a major earthquake the whole time, but will keep experimenting as I go along, and Bob I enjoyed the " Giant Hand" switch machine or is that a 200Lb hand crane.
