A Sincere Thanks

I would like to thank everyone for their help and suggestions about DCC. Its taken a while, but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. I’ve wired about a half a dozen engines now and they all work pretty good… I would especially like to thank Joe Fugate for posting that video of the locomotives with sound. That gave me the confidence to try it myself. I now have a pair of Western Maryland F7A’s running around with sound. Only problem is now I’m hooked on sound and want more!!! Again thanks to all, I really appreciate the help.

Jim, I wish I’d been one of those that helped you along but I’m still learning all this myself. Thing is, you’re probably an expert on wiring locos by now.

Hehehehehe,… yep once you run sound, silence sounds kinda funny. Although I do have a Kato SD40-2 non sound that I run still. Kato… that is one smooth running engine. Maybe one day I’ll try adding sound to it when I get the nerve up.

I myself will never get the courage to wire a decoder and install a speaker. But maybe one day.

Im glad that your “Wild Mary” is alive and well sounds and all.

DCC is a journey. In my home too much sound or pumping air compressors tend to lead to a frying skillet flying in the airspace immediately around the workbench.

=)

Makes one appreciate silent running good running engines even more as a contender for a future speaker installation.
