Thought I might try another “Where-Is-It.” So can anyone guess where this was taken?
The Nevada Northern shop in Ely, Nevada?
Jim,
Good call. Have you been to the Nevada Northern at Ely, NV?
The locomotive pictured is a 1917 product of Baldwin, it was rostered on the Nevada Northern as their No. 81. It is a 89 ton coal fired consolidation (2-8-0) with 51 inch drivers. It is to be the next steam locomotive project under-taken by the museum - no date set yet.
Trains readers were treated to two nice photos of NNRY’s No. 40 in the May issue of the magazine. Here is one I captured of the No. 40 at the museum April 7th.
The Nevada Northern’s web page is here:

Railroads of White Pine County is here:

For anyone thats been there, there is no mistakin’ this place !!!
Jim-
Nope never been anywhere near Nevada for about 20+ years. But, since I receive almost all the railfan mags, this shot looked familiar. IIRC, TRAINS had a pictorial of the shops and operations about 6-8 years ago.
The give aways?—Your home location, and that ex-Kennecott caboose.[8D]
I actually have a picture of that engine coming out of a tunnel just west of Ely, it is a beautiful picture that my cousin took years ago that we had blown up.
