Looks great Viorel, reminds me of one winter scene I saw with a bare tree made in a very similar way, I’m almost certain it was one of Jon Grants.
Have you tried using a poly fibre canopy over your excelent and intricate branch work? it seems a great pity that most of that intricacy is hidden by the dense foliage on the limbs, I think polyfibre would give you more of a transparent look and make these details visible.
Great work and an easy to follow webpage instruction. How long do they take to make per tree? roughly 2hrs?
Thanks for posting.
Have fun & be safe
Karl.
Thanks for nice reply and advice, ukguy [:)].
I’m also looking for a way for the smallest branches. Unfortunatelly, I don’t know what “'poly fibre” is [angel]. I’ll give google a try, and maybe you can help with some links to pictures ?
Thanks,
Viorel
Woodland scenics makes a green polyfiber with ground foam attached. Works. Polyfiber can be bought at anyplace that sells craft supplies or upholstery materials. It is ussual white but easily painted with spray paint of acrylic washes. It needs to pulled apart a lot.
Looks good Viorel. Very nice structure. Good instructions, too.
I really like coconut fibre for the fine branches. Mine came from a garden centre - used for lining hanging baskets. I’m posting a pic of a tree elsewhere coz I don’t want to hijack your thread.

Nice tree. What sized wire did you use for the bigger and smaller sizes? I really like the end result, looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Mike. I’d love to see how it looks with coconut fiber. I’m not sure I’ve understood “Mine came from a garden centre - used for lining hanging baskets”. You mean it’s industrially processed fiber, and not the one I’d get from the coconut surface [:D] ? I want to try myself this technique, I’m not very satisfied with wire for the smaller branches…I need something thiner.
Have you posted the photo ( I think there no problem posting it on this thread, if you like, there is not much to discuss about my trees…) ?
Viorel,
Thanks, ft-fan. Well, I’m not sure about the size. The thinner wire is from a dismantled electrical outlet, and the thicker one was almost three times as thick. If I get my hands on a measuring precision tool, I’ll give it a try and post the results [:)]
Viorel,
Hi Viorel
As far as I know the fibre isn’t processed in any way. Mine was bought in about a 12x8x3 inch bundle - enough for a lifetime! And it would’ve been quite inexpensive. I like it for the woody nature it has. It’s also very tough, and you can kink it and glue it in its new shape if you’re keen! Nothing wrong with wire, though.
