The Trail Hotshot on the Kootenay Valley Railway is a very unique train. Once part of CP’s southern mainline, most of which is now abandoned, this train has run as the hotshot since at least the 1950s - Probably longer! All the through freights and locals are now gone, leaving this as a heavy haul branchline with its single train.
