AAR issues safety alert for wheel chock vandalism
Please…No surprise here as vandals have wide open and unchallenged access to the nation’s rails. Vandals do as they please. The AAR is wasting its time. They have done nothing to curb graffiti so why try here?!
I think that the AAR should look to the rail fan community which we readers are members. Not only do we take pictures, but most of us also have cell phones. So, if we see something wrong, we can call the police. We can be an extra set of eyes for the railroads. Think about it.
It used to be that only railcars were graffiti vandalized, never locomotives. Now nothing is safe, which begs the question: why aren’t the railroads doing a better job with security?
