Funny, “5.4% unemployment” should be generating the same loadings as this same unemployment number did in 2008. Point is the unemployment numbers are fake and the economy is yet to recover. And that is a shame as the railroads have done such a good job growing traffic in the “good years.”
Can you say, “EPA killing coal fired power plants?”
I do a lot of train watching along the NS Pittsburgh Line and my observations seem to confirm the grain shipments. And there appears to be a shortage of covered hopper cars ~ I’ve never seen such a variety of railroads represented. Some of the cars date back to the 70s.
