Leave it to the guvmint to F (foul up) a good thing, besides the STB is an appointed body. If laws were to change it should be a congressional act not a cabinet appointed decision, I would tend to think, after all I took civics class 27 yrs ago in H.S.
I think that it is time to get a new “crop” into Congress. The current atmosphere of regulating the country to death just keeps rolling along. Keep your mitts off of the country and let capitalism and the market shake out the best ways to operate the railroads and their shippers. The best service will always produce the best results, without Congress tinkering everything to death!
If only we could get the Senate Democrats to stop trying to reregulate the freight railroads and the Republicans in the house to stop trying to kill Amtrak!
I guess they want a return of Penn Central. Railroading is
a high capital intesive business. You cannot legislate capacity
improvements. That takes capaital! I’m sure the ignorant
concress critters that will vote for re-regulation get a lot
of contributions from the greedy shippers!

Get the GOP out of control of the house is what is needed.
