About Optivisors

Any recommendations–are there features I should look for. I go blury-eyed working on HO all day.

Yes, get the OptiVisor brand, it has a knob on the back for adjusting the headband. I have three brands and the OptiVisor brand is the best - worth the extra it costs.

I have a third party unit and two OptiVisors. The actual OptiVisors are made much better, in my opinion. As Paul said, the knob on the back is a nice feature in and of itself.

The fellow I consulted about HP and his spectacles recommended the Optivisor; he uses one.

I have a light/magnifier combo that is mounted to my workbench and has a pantograph style set of arms to hold it wherever I put it. It has a circular fluorescent light underneath, and the center is clear and contains the magnifier. It also has a flip-up cover to protect the lens when not in use. I got it at one of the local cheapo tool joints for under $20, and like it much better than anything hanging off my head.

I use Optivisor. I only get aggrevated when the lens are too dirty to look through. Sounds like an operator problem.

The optivisor will move around the house so the wife can put a thread in the needle in the sewing machine. It works wonders for taking splinters out of grandkids hands. Also helps to read the fine print on medicine bottles.

I have two – a genuine Optivisor and a cheap, $4 one from an electronics surplus dealer. My advice is, stick with the Optivisor. The cheaper ones, if mine is any indication, are blurry and uncomfortable.
