I apologize for the sudden drop in performance. The past couple of days things have been running very smoothly. Then today at about 4:00pm (CST) a message was sent out to the entire community announcing the changes to the site. Unfortunately, all the messages went out in a single batch resulting in our server taking a hit. Next thing we know, it felt like we were in the middle of an IBM commercial as we watched the server performance take a dive.
I’m fairly confident the problem exists with our database server. I’ll be reviewing some of the code tonight and making modifications tomorrow morning. Hopefully we’ll get some of the performance issues worked out and we’ll be back to where we were before.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work on this.

David,
It is truly refreshing to hear from you about the state/status/tribulations you are encountering with the system. Shows that you really do “give a damn”. I, for one, appreciate the feedback. Having written God only knows how many lines of code myself, I understand that these things can take time, sometimes a lot, to unearth.
Happy Hunting ! KILL the Bugs . . . Did you ever consider the Orkin Man ? But then I guess you are playing that part in this scene.
Thank You,
It really is nice to see that someone actually takes care of the forum and cares enough to send out a message to evryone to explain what the problem is instead of saying “I don’t know, we are trying to fix it” to whomever asks.
Thanks and keep up the great work!!
I like this forum site. Thanks for putting up the repair notices, and keep up the good work.
Having the repair notices that these guys care and are showing what costomer service really is.Alot of sites don’t say anything, but letting people know will help understand whats going on and so the customer is prepared.
