Hi all, i have a problem here and am hoping for some help, we have 2 model train shows coming up on the 6th of april, one is the Model railroad show and sale at the Saladin shrine temple in Grand Rapids, MI and the other one is the Model trains show and flea market at the campus of central michigan university, anybody have any ideas as to which is the best?, thanks in advance for the info as always.
I have heard from numerous people that the Central show is very good . My kid goes there so will be going to see the show , oh and him to!
The Rails on Wheels modular club out of Saline (Ann Arbor) will be at the Mt. Pleasant show. The club had a very good time there last year. The show seemed to bring in a lot of different people than the shows that we usually do. I also liked that they used the show as an oportunity to introduce the hobby to a lot of handicapped people. The show benefits service dogs in part.
I also got a couple of real good deals at the show. Like two Walthers old Santa Fe passenger cars for $15. I don’t expect a deal like that again but I’ll be looking.

The Saladin show is quite small but does have a fair amount of dealers for it’s size.
That being said I would rather go to the other show but my club is one of two layouts on display at the Shriner show.(the reason I’d like to go is because I haven’t been there yet [:D])
I think the size of the show has little merit on what might be offered in the show, go to it.
I went to the GR show not too long ago and found 2 HOn3 turntables and one powering unit for one of them, thats a big deal find for me.
Central Mochigan, havent been to it, the Kalamzoo show is Beeeeegg…
