AC & DC?

Am Flyer’s #14 “Rectiformer” issued in the late 40’s used DC for the trains and AC for accessories. How effective was this?
What was the tube # for the Rectiformer? Were all #14s rated at 150watts; mine is rated at 100 watts. Finally, does anyone know a wiring diagram for the rectiformer.
Many thanks, Mc

Mr. Plummer is apparently unaware that Gilbert made several locomotives in the early post-war period that were DC only, with permanent magnets in the field. I have a '49 332, my 1st train, that is DC, as well as a 342DC, that is obviously DC. They also sold a 332DC.
