What buildings are you looking for? I know up here we can get neon lights that move, or movie theaters that the lights move. I also know that you can get woking oil pumpjack. I know you can get it at hobby wholsale in Edmonton Alberta. (They have a site to buy stuff from too.) I also know of drive in car movie theaters that will play movies.
I am puzzled about your reference to “AC”. Do you mean “alternating current”, ie from the “accessory” terminal on your power pack, or by “AC”, do you mean “air conditioning”?
Any particular reason why you specify AC power, other than that it is pretty commonly available. Not battery power or other?
There are a number of animation devices usually sold as detail items-- operating cranes, operating conveyor belts, etc. not specifically sold as part of a building.
Are you thinking of the accesory buildings that O-gauge companies like Lionel provides? Well, there are a few, but mostly HO sticks to the trains themselves, so there aren’t a lot of “moving parts” in the structures themselves.
I have some coal operations on my layout. I have a bunch of old Mantua “clamshell” hopper cars, which aren’t terribly prototypical, but they will unload coal when they pass over a special actuator on the track. I’ve also got an old Vollmer building with chutes from which I’ll be able to load coal once I get it all working again. The trouble is, these things are from my childhood, over 40 years ago. You can’t buy them any more.
There are, however, some companies making “animation motors” for building your own active structures. You could set up a sawmill, with logs moving back and forth, or something similar.
