As a newcomer to live steam I purchased a Ruby 2 in 2010, so found this video very interesting. I think, though, that the video would be better without music so that one can hear the engine puffing away!

What would happen if you placed a thin piece of asbestos between the gas tank and the boiler so as to insulate the two? Then the heat would not affect the gas temperature.
