WoW! covers it nicely! I’m a fan of Accurail, though their cars don’t have the multitude of hand applied parts you see on some of the other manufacturers offerings, they offer a very good product that is pleasing to the eye. I have a consideable number (well over 100) of Two bay hoppers by both Accurail and Athearn and I am more than satisfied with them.

So when I ordered the MR&T Hopper I was expecting the standard Accurail offering but what I got was a lot more as this kit seems to be a vastly improved version of their standard, as the assembly has been upgraded to make it appear more prototypical but is still straightforward and simple to assemble.

I think I only have three Accurail freight cars.

The first one I assembled was a 40 foot gondola, and I was impressed with it.

Good to hear of a manufacturer going the “other” direction for once, adding quality instead of removing it. Unless of course you got twice the previous quality but paid thrice the old price.

I have lots of Accurail box cars for the Milwaukee Road. I bring a spreadsheet of road numbers I already have to train shows to avoid duplication, and always find a new number from the Accurail guy.

As I build them up, they get Kadees and Intermountain wheelsets.
