ACe on DVD?

Hi

SD70-2 and SD70ACe are fairly new locomotives, so I doubt anyone has been able to capture them on professional video yet, but among the DVD dealers such as pentrex, a-trains etc, are there any new DVD’s featuring these locomotives?

Highball Productions has two new DVDs that feature SD70ACes, one covering the UP and one covering CSX. I wouldn’t expect them to appear in too many scenes since there weren’t many out and about. He did catch the WP Heritage SD70ACe leading on his “East of Green River” DVD.
Here is a link to his website;

thanks.

Do these videos have naration like pentrex, or are they something different?

Yes, they have narration just like Pentrex. Peter Crook does a nice job on them. Only thing to watch out for is make sure that your DVD player works with DVD-R or DVD+R. His videos like most of the smaller producers are duplicated not pressed. Pentrex doesn’t duplicate their videos only presses them like the big movie companies. The disadvantage to pressing DVD is the high initial cost, this is why Pentrex doesn’t rerelease very many older videos on DVD, and also why they don’t release many new videos.

I met Peter Crook on Cajon one day and spent several hours talking to him. He is a very nice guy. He is real down to earth and has a real feel for what railfans want to see in his videos.

That’s not a problem, I’m watching this on my computer anyway…

I’ve found a GREAT deal at Karen’s books. Highball over Cajon 2 for only about $9. It’s a sale till the end of the month. Normally it’s over $30. So I’ve ordered that. It contains a UP ACe, only one though. But I hope there is more than one shot of it.
