ACELA Sets Providence, RI

Hello All,

Over the weekend I checked the Amtrak MOW base in Providence, Rhode Island. I saw 4 ACELA train sets parked in the yard with an Amtrak cop on duty watching over them. I was told tthat over last week the sets were towed down from Boston by the MOW base switchers (532 & 538) over the last week. The sets are parked so that they can be seen from both I-95 and the industrial park road that runs alongside.

Just a few more tidbits for this interesting story.

If I was A.trak I would park the trains out of sight so the public does not continue to remember that they will not be running for some while.[:o)]

There are five or six sets in the coachyard at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, easily visible from I-76, the Schuylkill Expressway.
