ACL colors

I was given a 4-6-2 Pacific as a gift a few years back and purchased a consist of passenger cars for it and an REA express car. The passenger cars are Athearn kits in Pulman green in Atlantic Coast Line livery. I want to add a few more cars to this consist but can find only ACL cars in the purple color scheme. Would these be proper mixed in with the Pulman green cars behind steam motive power? Thanks in advance, Ken

I have no clue as to whether or not the ACL ever had mixed color consists, but wanted to point out that the green cars are all over Ebay. They may not be Athearn though. I think they’re usually made by Branchline, but I’m not 100% certain.

I need to pick up a few of the purple livery cars - where are you finding them?

I’ve seen them on eBay. I’ve also seen them at www.discounttrainsonline.com They have both the IHC and the Athearn line of Purple/Silver passenger cars.
