Actor and model railroader Gary Coleman dies
Very sad to hear about Gary Coleman…I watched Diff’rent Strokes as a kid and remember the train layout that was on the show.
He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
Yep,
Gary was a railroad fan, and a funny guy. We will all miss him.
WHAT U TALK’IN ABOUT?
Who knew? Glad he got enjoyment from our hobby.
Sad.
thank you of the info. And another model railroader go’s to the big roundhouse in the sky.
Not unlike many, Mr Coleman was a man who found himself facing many difficulties in life. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. Hopefully, model railroading helped him cope with those numerous challenges in life. May God’s grace and salvation work through this loss.
I remembered him on the cover of RMC.
Sad to see a N scaler go. Happy rails Gary.
I must pay my respect to the late Gary Coleman, a brillient actor & a brillient model railroad/way fan. R.I.P Gary, you’ll surely be missed by your fans in the UK.
Ran across Gary over the years at hobby shops in the Los Angeles area. Very sorry to hear the news. May he rest in peace!
Rest in peace Gary. Have a great time at the rail yard in the sky.
Truly a remarkable person who battled and overcame many issues both personal and professional. He will be missed by all.
Did he model N scale?
It is sad to hear of Gary’s passing. I first learned he was a model railroader from the cover and article in RMC. I have one or two articles from a UP Info magazine where he toured the North Platte dispatching facility. I never did bump into him at a train show but I think it would have been neat. According to a Channel 5 news article he had $3,000 in trains and a layout at his home in Santaquin, Utah. It is neat to hear of celebrities that are also model railroaders, there are quite a few. I enjoyed the shows he was in.

Very sorry about his passing.
So sad to hear. Perhaps MRM may be able to obtain a video
of his layout for us fans to see and remember.
GARY WE ALL WILL MISS YOU.
I’m really sorry to hear about Gary Colman, I enjoyed his show “Diff’rent Strokes” he also did a spot on the “Jamie Foxx Show” he was an avivd modelrailroader and will be greatly missed,
Gone too soon, much too young. We have lost too many talented individuals and railroaders alike. He was special, in our hearts and minds. He will be missed. God be with you Gary, you have made many smile while you were here…
