Hi, my name is Ralph and I am new to this forum. I have O-scale trains and I am currently building my own turntable modeled after Cheyenne. I was wondering if any one knows where I could find actual blueprints for a roundhouse, I would like to also scratchbuild it. It doesn’t have to be Cheyenne, I just need the dimensions for a guideline. I appreciate any information any one has. Thanks Ralph
Yes actually I can! The ORIGINAL Roundhouse built by the North Midland Railway in Derby is still standing (although empty of locos). It has 16 sides and is 190 feet across 50 feet high. It is now being converted into an Technology centre by Derby Uni. EDIT: Wikipedia has a picture of it in its somewhat sorry state. The only other Roundhouse that I know well is Barrow Hill near Chesterfield -but that is not round it’s square!!! regards ralph
