actually saved this poor old tired building

this is the results of my earlier post about saving stuff that seems to be beyond repair…well, here it is…this building was in the bottom of a box…notice the holes in the clapboard and the really un even walls…it was a mess…i worked on it all day today and I think it’s ok to put on the layout now…what do you guys think?

Heckuva save if you ask me. Actually looks pretty good. The patch job to cover the gao is a great idea, looks realistic too. Nice job!

Other than the purple cast, looks fine to me. [;)]

Man Chuck, that’s an impressive before and after comparison. Will you be doing any more to it, like an interior or super-detailing? What will it be on your layout?

I don’t superdetail the insides of buildings…it’s costly putting in furniture…the only thing i’ll do is light it and maybe a couple of barrels or trashcans and some figures added to the outside…it’s a ma and pop moving company and it’s going to go in the city outskirts of my layout near a refinery and a cattle loading facility…chuck

Excellent Chuck.

I have a bunch left over from my Dad’s layouts from the 60’s that I intend on modifying in the same manner that you have.

looks good chuck. perhaps on another one you can leave it as is–in desrepair for a derelict building? just a thought.

Nice job of restoring the building.

thanks for the encouragement guys, I believe this building was part of an old IHC depot at one time…i got it in a yard sale somewhere years ago…it’s a kitbash job that went totally wrong somehow by the previous owner…I picked it up anyway …do you know how hard it is to find stuff like this in a garage sale?..LOL…chuck
