I’m adding an extension off the side of my layout for an elevated loop to run Marx on. To make this work, I’ll have a length of 3 track sections that will run over top of existing track, I need a way to support it. I’m using Lionel 027 track along with Lionel’s elevated trestle set. Since there is track under it, the elevated trestle I’m using on the rest will not work. Any ideas on what to use? anyone have any pics I can see as an example?
What if you made some supports out of wood that straddle the lower track and kind of make an upside-down U shape?
How about a length of 1x4 (actually 3/4 x 3 1/2) lumber? I use oak for a span of any significant length; but your Marx is probably light enough that pine or SPF would be just fine for a couple of feet.
Check out www.ameritrains.com for their track elevators that will straddle another line of track. Go to accessories on their site, then to track elevators.
