Adding a winterizatio hatch to a Atlas FP7 - advice?

Now that I have an Atlas FP7 I would like to know how to safely remove one of the fans molded on the top of the model so as to add a Canadian style winterization hatch. Any advice?

It’s been awhile since I did mine but I seem to remember just doing some carving around where the base of the hatch fits, I did not remove the fan totally. I used a Miniatures by Eric tall CP winterization hatch and it has some mesh that you can sort of see down through and see the fan. Sort of. In the right light.

Thanks - I agree, I have the same part and I was tinkering after I posted the question and you really don’t have to remove the full fan.

Here is a couple of photos of mine. I just trimmed back the front of the fan a little. The exhaust stacks are from a Highliner kit.
