Adding ''ripples'' to water

Hello all, getting closer to the weekend! I have built a in-ground swimming pool on my HO layout and would like to know how I can make ‘‘ripples’’ in it. I do not want a lot just enough to look like the wind is moving the watter a little. I also have some kids in the pool and might like some splashing going on. Thanks for any help. Will send some pics latter. Mike

When the water materiel is drying if you hold a spot lamp over it it creates ripples.

Hope this helps.

I would let the first layer dry completely to seal it all and to protect your painted surface below it…if you have it. Then, I would add gloss medium and as it gets tacky, dab it gently with a lintless cloth. The resultant ripples should be quite nice.

After following Selector’s recommendations for base water and ripples, I plan to add whitewater with clear caulk, spackling compound, and possibly paint. I’ll let you know how it goes.
