Adding TMCC1 engines into Legacy

Another MartyE Production

Nice video, you are quite right about it getting easier with practice.[:)]

Another winner Marty! Since I do not yet have Legacy, your video raised a question. To run the engine, do I operate the remote in CAB1 mode? What if I have a Legacy engine on the track at the same time?

Regards,

John

When you run a standard TMCC1 engine you will run it in TMCC mode. If you add a Legacy engine the remote will be setup by it’s specific memory module and will set it’s self for Legacy mode.

The remote will operate in the mode programmed specifically to the engine currently selected. So for example if you have loaded a TMCC1 engine in and use the control type of “TMCC”, a engine with EOB or other after market cruise set in 100 spped steps and use the control type “Cab1”, and a Legacy engine with the control type “Legacy” then when you select the respective engine the remote will change to the operating mode that was programmed with that engine.

So whe the Legacy engine is selected it will set the remote up for Legacy control, TMCC engine selected the remote will change to TMCC, and the engine with EOB 100 steps will set the remote to Cab1 mode.

Does that make sense? That’s why it’s important that the control type matches the engine type. Other wise you could be running a Legacy engine in Cab1 mode and be missing many of the Legacy features. Same if you are running a TMCC in Cab1, some of the enhancements that Legacy adds to those engines such as variable momentum would not be available in Cab1 mode.

Thanks Marty:

It makes perfect sense. I was worried that you had to change the remote settings when you switched engines. No need to worry. I am planning on calling my LHS today to see if they have a Legacy set and a NYC GP7 for me to buy.

John
