If any one has had success in adding some weight to a New Bright or Scientific engine please share that with me. I’ve got it pulling 2 box cars, 2 gondolas, a caboose and that Dam heavy caboose full of “C” batteries. LocoAnnie are you there ?
Well through the power of flea markets I’ve ended up with (3) Cheap “G” scale sets. (2) Scientific and (1) New Bright. I do agree the new bright is made cheaper if thats possible. I plan to cull the best from all three, and dump the rest on Ebay. I noticed today to my surprise that New Bright and Scientific track have the couplers on opposite sides and are incompatible. Who’s braniac idea was that ? Any way, can the joiners safely be removed and moved to the other side. That would give me 6 more straights. Thanks in advance for any answers. Dave in PA
BTW this is to scratch the “G” itch. If it works, I plan on getting some Hartland or Bachmann Annie equipment. If not and I sell it all, all I’m out is time. Dave
Also any reccomendations of a lighter rechargeable 9volt pack. I have an MRC Battery charger I picked up for a $1.00 Cheap is out there if you hit the flea markets.
Thanks again for any ideas, other than just give up while your ahead. Dave in PA
