Anyone using Liquid nails or construction adhesive might be interested to know that if you stick road bed etc. and then unstick it a few times you release the solevent vapors and it will set up and dry quicker. I’ve been doing it for years. Also sub floor adhesive is generally cheaper and works the same. I use the crap out of the stuff. Of course I buy it by the case in quart tubes.

Just a note to warn not to use the regular Liquid Nails or solvent type adhesives on foam. Otherwise the foam will disappear before your eyes! [:O] [censored]
For foam, use Liquid nails for Form Board (it says so on the label) or other non-solvent glue. At least test on a scrap piece of foam.
Gsetter, It’s been a few years but I remember another carpenter telling me he got constuction adhesive on a foam wall of an addition he was working on and it ate away the foam board sheating. poor guy it was on the second story of the addition.
I find the latex water based contact cement works wonders and it’s non toxic. It Brushes on with a cheap foam brush.
Do not use Liquid Nails to attach either roadbed (cork) or track - you will be sorry.
Easiest, quickest and cheapest thing to use is cheap clear plain CAULK. Try it, you will be amazed.
But whatever you do - do NOT use liquid nails.
If you have to move the track for some reason, you’ll distroy the track, roadbed and foam.
Hey guys, I am reading your p[ostings and I found them very interesting. I have a new layout that I am building and I am about to secure the foam board to the bench work. If not, liquid nails, what should I use.
Liquid Nails makes a special formula for foam. If you got the hardware store, Lowes or Home Depot, you should be able to find it.
