I have a postwar AF 779 Barrel loader that I want to use on my postwar Lionel layout. I like the look better than the Lionel unit. I have the original controller. How do I wire the loader using my Lionel transformer (KW)? Will the Lionel gondolas “line up” with the loader to accept the barrels from the loader.
You have one of my favorite accesories! 
The original is a rotating on / off switch. If you have it place it in line on neutral line. At the bottom of the ramp is the hook up terminals. Put the neutral, base, or common lead on the lug closest the bottom of the ramp. On the hot lead (providing 8 - 15 volts) on the other.
As far as lining up, If you have raised roadbed, you may need to raise the unit. This will be a trial and error till the height works. A little heigher is better than not high enough to let the drum flip over the edge.
