After X-Mas sales

Went to the local Hobby Lobby…( Kirkwood Mo)…train items only 25% off…train sets full price.

Any other Sales?

I too like to take advantage of bargains clearance sales and discounts, I can’t even find a sale on led x-mas lights, looks like the retailers are not in a giving mood this year

The only thing on sale at my local on the day after Christmas is hot-air and there is always a lot of that in supply.

My wife wanted to go to Hobby Looby to get Christmas decorations and such at 50% off. I wanderd back to the train section and they had train stuff at 25% off. I bought some Woodland Senics tree kits.

You can get on HOBBY LOBBYS email list and they occasionally send you coupons by email for 40% off on any given item in the store, you can use ONE each day, so if you go by the store everyday, you can stop in and get 40% off train stuff everyday!

Thanks for the tip. I didn’t realize they did that.

Yes they do, they’llsend you a weekly email, and sometimes it will be for one particular section of the store, and sometimes for any item in the store. But it is always 40 % off. You simply print it out, and take it with you.

I’ve used them for some of the nicer ready built HO buildings. A 26 dollar building at 40% off brings it in at just under 16 dollars.

Ballast and stuff with 40% off coupon beats the LHS by a long shot!
They will honor ONE COUPON per day.

Well I bought myself a Christmas present the other day, a new MRC Prodigy Express DCC system. LHS wanted 129.99 for it, I was able to barter it down to $109, so felt pretty good about that.

I looked on Ebay, and they were selling for $139 and upwards of that, so I feel I got a decent deal, and if anything is wrong with it, I can return it to the LHS for replacement or repair.and that’s worth something

I might see if I can go back and barter on a new Bachmann NKP 765.
LHS is asking $119, but I think I can probably get that down to 109 to 99
I just wish that Bachmann had offered it with sound.

Last year it was 40% off the train stuff. Made they’ll increase the discount in a couple weeks.

2 years ago it was 50% off all train stuff…you are better off using the weekly coupon!

Or, if - like me - you don’t want to give your email address (I get enough spam and then some), you just go to Hobby Lobby’s website and from the homepage there’s a link to their coupon for the week. Usually, it’s about every other week that they have the 40 percent off coupon. Good enough for me, since I get paid about every other week. Oh, that 40 percent coupon is for only one item, so I use it on the most expensive item and if there are other things I need that don’t run very much more, I’ll get other stuff, too.

You might check back at Hobby Lobby, since around the end of the year (past couple of years here), they run better discounts on a lot of train stuff. Hope that helps.
