AHM Hopper truck replacement recommendations

I have a 60’s era Cement hopper that has the talgo trucks that are held on by pressure pins.

Has anyone replaced this setup with a screw mounted truck & if so, what brand did you use & how did you mount it?

It’s one of the few I have left from my Dad’s rolling stock that I’m going to use & would really like to update it.

Thanks in advance

Gordon

gordon take the pin and super glue it in the hole when dry cut the top off and sand it flat drill a 2-56 drill and a 2-56 screw the new truck and wheels to the car right height for coupler too

One method I have used is to remove the pin and drill out the hole to 1/8" dia. Install evergreen scale models 1/8" styrene tubing in the hole and trim flush. After the glue dries (usually over night) install NEW trucks with #2 self taping screws. The hole in the tubing will take a #2 screw. This works well with any plastic car that the screw hole is stripped. If the new trucks have a hole larger than #2 you can trim the tubing a little long and form a bushing. Atheran and Life-Like trucks usually have a large hole. Altas has a #2 hole.
