Airbrush coupling needed

After 20 years I was finally able to score an air compressor (thanks Horror Freight). This has a “quick-connect” fixture that is typically used with air-powered tools. I, of course, need a fitting that fits into that fixture on one side, and one threaded male fitting that will allow me to screw on the Paasche hose that connects to the airbrush on the other. The Paasche website shows a fixture that would connect to the compressor properly, but the other end looks like I’d have to permanently connect a “raw hose” to it, apperently with a (tiny) hose clamp. Is this how it’s done, or is there something (else) I don’t know? Mike

On the slight chance that you live in Canada, go to Princess Auto. They’ve got every imaginable accessory and coupling for air equipment. That’s where I got the adapters to put a moisture trap on my compressor and quick disconnects on my airbrush hose and the original compressor hose.

What’s on the end of your hose now? I’m guessing it’s a 1/4" NPT thread (National Hose Thread) . You’ll most likely just need a 1/4" NPT quick disconnect - male or female to fit yours now. Looks like this

Should cost about $3.00 at Lowes, HD, Ace etc. A little Teflon tape on the thread and you are good to go. I would also add a moisture trap and air pressure gauge if there isn’t one on the compressor.

Bob- although I grew up in Buffalo (close enough to Canada), I now am in the deep south, eh? Ratled- Yeah, I saw them at HD, thought the threads were wrong and had forgotten the hose to match them up. Looking now, I think they’ll match fine. Thanks guys
