Airbrush on a modest budget

What is a quality airbrush/compressor tandem on a modest budget? Is there an alternative to a compressor or would a compressor be the best investment for long term use?

I have had good luck with the Testors Aztek–I think the A230 or A320 model (I forget which.) They’re reasonably priced and paint well. A compressor is your best bet, if you want to go the cheaper route get an inexpensive compressor from Home Depot–but get a water/oil trap and pressure regulator attachment. They cost less than hobby compressors and are useful for other things that compressors are nice for (driving nails, inflating tires, etcetera.)

The cans of compressed air for airbrushes are horribly expensive. A compressor will pay for itself in the long run!
