Airbrush selection

I have an old single action Badger airbru***hat used Propel. I want to replace it with a better model of Paasche airbrush. I have the Paasche D500 compressor, but have been getting conflicting advice concerning an airbrush. Some have recommended staying with a single action H or HS [screw-on connection], while others have advised me to get the VL or MIL. I would certainly appreciate any other opinions or recommendations.

Perhaps being you have the expertiese of using an air brush, seriousy consider the dual action type. The learning curve is not that great and to vary the width of spray on a single pass is great. I went with another brand and with the fine Med and Course tips, glad I did,

Check on the Badger web site, If memory serve me, I thing there is a conector to apply a hose to your badger, might be handy having both up and running doing scenery. Take Care…John

I am going to get the VL next month. It has everything i wanted.

HI,
I would definitely recommend a dual-action airbrush. I never used any airbrush before I got my Badger dual-action and was doing just fine after a few hours of practice. That’s the key…practice, practice and practice. I got several cheap engine shells and several old broken down freight cars to practice on and the results have been outstanding.
One guy recently pointed out to me that one great benefit of a dual-action brush is that if it should clog, you can pull back the trigger to really give a blast and clear it out. Also, it is great to be able to vary the spray as you move along without having to stop and turn that screw.

Hope this helps and good luck. I’m sure you’ll enjoy stepping up to a better brush.

I am shopping as well, and have been looking at the Badger 350. Anyone have one who would care to share their comments?
