Airbrushing info needed

Could someone point me to some on-line sites which have good information on using an airbrush, from the basics to more advanced techniques? I haven’t used my airbrush very much, but want to get serious about it now and use it more. Also, my daughter wants to borrow it to decorate her craft projects.

As well, is there any place which has a list of what thinners to use with different types of paint, the thinning ratios and recommended air pressures? The paint manufacturers’ sites are not helpful here and I haven’t been able to glean too much information from magazine articles.

Of course, help from the knowlegable people who inhabit this forum will be most welcome. TIA

Try doing a search for airbrush here on the forum. There’s been a lot of posts about thinners and paints and preasures. MR did a good article last month on airbrushing.

airbrushtechnique.com they have a forum and great info for newbies and vets alike

Thanx for the hints, guys. I’m still wading through the posts on the forum. I find I have to do a lot of sifting to find something relevant. Airbrushtechnique.com is a very good site–lots of very useful information. I found another really good tutorial site www.craigcentral.com/models/default.asp. Not much out there on what thinners to use and what ratios to mix them in, so I guess I’ll have to do some experimenting. I just don’t want to ruin a paint job or damage the airbrush.
