Al Krug/ Mountain West Rails

Anybody know what, if anything might have happened to Al Krug (Tales from the Krug) and MountainWestRails? I’ve not gotten a response to an old Email nor have they put anything new up on their site for awhile. Really liked the photography and Krug’s photo stories.

Anybody know what happened to those folks?

Al is still working out of Sheridan, WY on the BNSF. He posted about the very bad weather in the PRB, yesterday on another forum. Mountain West Rails is I believe Paul S. Highland, I see his posts almost daily on one of the many forums I read, I haven’t heard of anything wrong there either.

As mentioned, Al Krug is still working as an engineer for BNSF in Sheridan, WY. He’s been working the yard for a few years now and thus there aren’t a lot of “tales” to tell.

As for MWR, it is still online, but I haven’t made time to update it. I am contemplating taking it offline since I don’t do a whole lot with it any more. Time will tell.

Sory about that Paul, I had the wrong one.

Congratulations on your virgin post to Trains.com and the railroad forum. What will we do if you pull your MWR site down now that Grumpy has left the Internet?

Be grumpy?

Paul,

It is nice to see you were able to dig out from all the local drifting. I suppose you could start posting anti-Nikon rants but I doubt the girls will let you become too grumpy.

No need for anti-Nikon rants as I don’t care what people use to create photos - even you, Al. [8D]

Yes, and I will get this digital pinhole photography using a camera built from an old Prince Albert can explained to you. There are some electrical issues to be worked on before the prototype is ready for use.

I just took a look at MWR website. Very nice. I am contemplating a good old fashioned road trip vacation out to Colorado this summer. The website just made me want it more. I remember as a kid we went to Pueblo in 1964 to visit relatives. Rode the Colorado Eagle out and back! One place we visited was the Royal Gorge. What a site!

Any trains running thru the gorge these days?

I looked down at a rock train there last May. Then I met some fellows at Rochelle that were returning from an excursion in the canyon in July of 06.
