I’ve seen a number of photos of Alaska RR RDCs used as cabs for push-pull trains (with a locomotive at the other end). Made me think of one question:
- Are the RDC’s providing HEP for the other passenger cars?

Some videos I have of the Alaska Railroad indicate that those RDCs on the end are only for cab controls when backing up.
They are no longer powered, but have controls for the locomotive(s) on the other end so an engineer can back the train up to a turnaround wye some distance from a terminal point such as Whittier.
