Alaska set car & engine values?

Through CL I bought a poorly working Alaska set for $60. What are the values of: 1804 engine, 9401 tank, 26826 searchlight, 1084 caboose. I have the 2011 Greenbergs book but can’t find them in there. I love the look of the engine and tank car.

I know they made two Alaska sets recently. One had tubular track, and the other had Fastrack. I don’t recall what the car numbers were or when they were made, but perhaps the newer (Fastrack) set was made after the book was published.

What is your set doing or not doing that make it poorly working?

The set is the 6-31976 Yukon Special. I just tested the engine. The 1804 engine is a two motor. One can motor is missing the gear at the end of the shaft. I see a gear on the other can motor but I’m guessing it just spins on the shaft. I can hear both can motors running when on the track but it won’t move. Anyone know the part numbers for the gears on the can motors? Do I need to glue the new gear on the shaft? This is my 1st diesel with engine sounds. It sounds OK but not spectacular. I only paid $60 for the set that came with some extra cars & track.

I recently had the same problem with the same engine. You can’t just replace the gears, but have to replace the motors. Good news is the replacement motors have a metal gear instead of plastic.

Lionel part # for the motor and pinion is 620-8857-100

How much for the two motors? Where should I buy them? How long will it take to Get them? Maybe I can use the motors on another contraption?

Directly from Lionel @ 8 bucks each. Worth it, I think; it’s a good looking engine

Yes it’s dazzling to look at. I want a 2nd one.

How long is the typical shipping time for Lionel parts?
