Hi does anyone have the limited run Walthers Alco PA set?
I have the D&H ones.
Does that count?

I’ve got a D&H PA and a Union Pacific PA and PB set. I believe almost every Walthers Proto 2000 locomotive has Limited Edition written on the box.
| How do they run? I’m getting two for Christmas. The ATSF one & the D&RGW one! |

Not yet , The PA’s ([2c]) are the most beautiful diesel ever built , Even though I model the SP , need those units in the Warbonnet , no other paint scheme does them justice . Although D&H is very nice.
I wished I would have went with the P2Ks over the PCMs. I have a PCM PA/PB/PA set of Espee Daylight units, and they are literally falling apart on me. The handrails are coming coming off, as well as the grills. I had to replace a speaker after VERY little run time (I didn’t even have the volume all the way up). I really hate the drawbars. The LokSound is cool, but I wished it was in a better quality unit.
It sounds like the P2K PAs are decent, so I have been considering dumping the PCMs for 'em. Sorry about the rant, but I am not a happy customer.
Mine run great so far. They have decent weight to them and they are great pullers. You are going to be happy with them.
Urg… I was looking at PCM’s Espee and Rio Grande PA’s…
I should have known something was up when the couplers were mounted upside-down from the factory. They had a lot of potential. I am gonna give PCM a call about all of this and see what is up.
They run amazingly well.
As Dave said, they are great pullers. They will pull almost anything you put behind them.
I took 1 PA, set about 17 Walthers & Athearn passenger cars behind it & it pulled the train all the way around my layout & barely slowed down for the two 3.5% grades I had on the previous layout.

This is a pretty sharp paint job!
