Does anyone know if the trucks from an Atlas Alco RSD 4/5 can be put on the Atlas Alco RS-1 to make it an RSD-1 without a lot of difficulty?

Why? The unequal spaced trucks from RSD-4/5 don’t look close to the equal spaced trucks of the RSD-1, at least in 3/4 view pictures.

As Newyorkcentralfan says they don’t look right. I think the trucks from a Kato RSC-2 would look better, even though they aren’t correct looking either. At least the axle spacing is even.
I guess that answers the question. I didn’t even look at the spacing differences in detail I was just thinking about the mechanics of doing it. Like most things it it sounded to good to be feasable. Hopefully someone puts it out one of these days as well as an MRS1
The RSD1 was a WWII era version for the US Military. IIRC, it even has cab walls tha sloped in to fit foreign loading gauges. Some did come back after the war, and the Alaska RR built new full width car bodies(both A & B units). Of course, they are long gone. Almost all of the RS1’s built before the war were rebuilt into RSD1’s and shipped out. Later, the government had Alco build replacement RS1for the RR’s that lost them to the war effort. Most of the RSD1’s went to Russia or worked on the Trans-Iranian railroad to supply Russia…
