All Aboard Florida selects general contractor for Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach stations
There was news this week about them finally laying track down too, albeit it really amounted to renovating something currently used as a siding. Still, progress.
Other news:
- The antis managed to anger the coastguard due to a belief (based upon local media coverage and press releases from local politicians) that a survey relating to current usage of an FEC bridge was actually a chance to criticize AAF.
- There’s been an executive reshuffle, apparently not a surprise
- A Jupiter politician has spoken out against extending the Tri-Rail to Jupiter because the anti-AAF campaign has turned into general anti-passenger sentiment amongst many constituents.
I think things will change for the better once the service is up and running.
What really interest me is the cost differential that we will see between this project and the equivalent cost of a government/Amtrak project.
