Almost picked up an Atlas Dash8-40 Buttt

No ditch lights in the NS or CSX versions for the Dash 8-40’s in the Gold line… I have 7 atlas diesels so far and none have ditch lights. It didn’t bother me in the past but the other manufacturers have been mounting ditch lights on their modern loco’s. I think it’s time that Atlas does the same, especially for their top line loco’s. I pass a pair of them every day along 495 in Delaware and the Ditch Lights are on. I don’t know why they typically refuse to include them. They do have them on the CW conrail version but that’s it. I don’t care if they were originally delivered without them. I’m sure most have them now.

Till now Atlas was my first choice but I have enough of them until they catch up with the others.

For some reason Atlas only offers the ditch lights on their wide cab Dash 8s. Not sure why they are not offered on Spartan cab dash 8s but they should be offered.

I am with you, i want ditch lights. I see that Modeltrainstuff.com has some BNSF with ditch lights that I am going to order next week but why not others engines. I don’t have a set period for my layout other than modern-ish and I would have to have ditch lights. 4 out of 5 of my engines (and soon 6 out of 7) are Atlas, so please… give us ditch lights!!!

Are there spare outputs on the QSI decoders in the Gold Loco’s to run the ditch lights?
